Aristophanes

Birmingham Seaholm’s English Department believes its primary responsibility is to prepare students for college and for future careers through a sequential, integrated curriculum of rigorous reading and writing. The reading program emphasizes the best of classic and contemporary literature, stimulating students to explore, evaluate, and react to universal ideas. The writing program develops students’ skills from basic grammar and composition to thoughtful, meaningful expository essays. The Department also recognizes the importance of oral communication and creative expression, the study of which serves to enrich the students’ perspective.
